Terms of service

These terms govern your use of theDealStream marketplace and the reports it provides. By opening an account you agree to them.

Accounts

  • Accounts are opened by invitation. You give true details about yourself and your organisation, and you keep your sign-in to yourself.
  • You are responsible for what is done under your account.
  • We may close an account that breaks these terms.

Reports and documents

  • Reports and documents on the site are for your own evaluation of a company or a fund. Do not share, copy or redistribute them.
  • A report you order is yours to read and keep. It is not yours to resell or publish.
  • Each page a signed-in viewer opens carries that viewer's name, so a copy can be traced.

Founder data rooms

A founder who opens a data room decides who may enter it. An investor admitted to a data room uses what they read only to evaluate that company, and does not copy or pass it on.

theDealStream reads data-room documents on its own machines to prepare the founder's report. It never sends them to a public or third-party AI service and never uses them to train one. This is a term of service, not only a policy.

What the service is not

  • theDealStream is not a broker, a dealer, an investment adviser or a placement agent. It does not recommend, arrange or take part in any investment.
  • A report is research. It is not investment advice, and it is not an offer or a solicitation.
  • Whether to invest, and on what terms, is your decision and yours alone. See the disclaimers.

Acceptable use

  • No scraping, bulk download or automated access.
  • No attempt to reach another account's data, a data room you were not admitted to, or the service's own systems.
  • No use of the service to break a law or a contract.

Fees

Plans and report prices are shown on the site before you order. Fees are due when a report is delivered or a plan period begins.

Liability

We work to make every figure right and cite its source, and we correct errors when they are shown to us. The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, theDealStream is not liable for a decision you make on the basis of a report or of the site, or for any indirect loss.

Changes and law

We may change these terms. If a change matters to you, we will say so on this page and, for account holders, by email. These terms are governed by the law of the State of California.
